Young Professionals Frugal Living Guide - Part 9

The Frugal Living series will take a look at some of the steps that the Young Professionals use to save a little extra dough on the things that we buy.

In an ideal world, the items that the Young Professionals wanted would always be found on some of the aforementioned deal sites. Sadly (or maybe thankfully) this is not the case. Sometimes the best deal can be found on ebay. Their motto: "Whatever it is, you can get it here" is remarkably true.

There are two facts that should be noted about ebay:
1) Ebay gives the true market value of what a product is actually worth. (What is a consumer REALLY willing to pay?)
2) Many deal finders sell thier deals for profit. Back when Slickdeals posted thier 50% for Dell laptops, ebay was flooded with Dell laptops. So while you may not be getting the absolute BEST deal, you'll be still be paying less than what you would have in store.

It should also be noted that in some situations, ebay offers a HIGHER price than most stores. This is because of Fact #1. When XBOX360's came out, RS was able to sell his console for a huge profit. In this case, getting a good deal means avoiding ebay and just sitting in line for a couple of hours.

So, if you absolutely need to have something and you don't want to wait for the deal, check ebay or froogle first. (Interestingly enough, froogle also queries ebay for thier best prices.)

I think you messed up the link to your own site... Shouldn't it be blogspot and not blogger? ;)
