The Frugal Living series will take a look at some of the steps that the Young Professionals use to save a little extra dough on the things that we buy.
Our tip today actually comes from Oprah...old school Oprah, not debt-diet Oprah (sounds like action figures). Many, many years ago, Oprah told Mrs. RS (not personally, but through her show) to get a change jar to help save a little extra money. Ever since that faithful day, my wife has not been spending any of her change. Any change that she gets, she saves to put into our change jar.
About once a year, just before our vacation, she empties the jar and collects all the change. She rolls it, counts it, and then we use it for spending money on vacation. Just last week she emptied the jar and we had $244. 50 to add to our vacation fund. That should get us a lot or Corona's on the beach next week.
