Young Professionals Frugal Living Guide - Part 1

This new Frugal Living series will take a look at some of the steps that the Young Professionals use to save a little extra dough on the things that we buy.

The first few entries will be looking into some of the sites that we use to get the best deals around.

Being that we are in the computer industry, we love technology. So one of the sites that we check often is Techbargains. Their tagline, "Targeting the best deals in tech" is dead on...I would have to say that they do that very well. I very rarely buy anything technology related anymore without some kind of discount or sale and it is usually found at this site. There is a Techbargains RSS Feed that you can just subscribe to and get deals sent right to you (I still use Bloglines to get my RSS feeds...highly recommended).

+1 on techbargains. The only problem is, if you end up looking at it every day you want to buy stuff you don't need. You say "Oh, that's a great deal, I should go buy that." So just ensure you have self control prior to using the site.

I also agree that techbargains is probably the best place on the net to find the best tech deals.

I also agree with Mike that if you go out there strictly to check out the latest deals you may be tempted to spend more because you can "save so much money"

I will have to admit that is true. I have often found myself looking out there and seeing something ridiculous like 8G of RAM for $50...wow, I am almost losing money by not getting that.

You basically just need to try to be careful with any of these deal sites. I have also often heard the same arguement with coupons at the grocery store...that you end up getting things that you normally wouldn't just because you have a coupon for it.
